Set His Face - The Resurrection - 11.23.25 - Stephen Hinson

Revive Church

In Luke 24, we encounter the risen Jesus through three powerful scenes—the empty tomb, the road to Emmaus, and His appearance to the disciples—each revealing the same truth: the resurrection is a past event with a present and future hope. Those closest to Jesus had lost heart because they forgot what He promised, yet the risen Christ met them in their confusion, opened their eyes to Scripture, renewed their hope, and sent them out with purpose. Like Cleopas, we often walk discouraged without recognizing that Jesus is right beside us, shaping our faith in the “in-between” of His resurrection and His return. The Discussion Guide invites us to reflect on how Jesus meets us in disappointment, how His presence reframes our circumstances, and how the Holy Spirit empowers us to live as witnesses of His resurrection. As highlighted in the Staff Note, this message served as a fitting conclusion to our journey through Luke—reminding our church and our staff that real hope is found not in outcomes or circumstances but in the living Jesus who walks with us, restores us, and calls us to proclaim His life-changing work.
