Set His Face - The Crucifixion - 11.09.25 - Kyle Morris
Pastor Kyle unpacked the moment that all of Luke’s Gospel has been building toward—the suffering, surrender, and saving love of Jesus. He reminded us that Jesus didn’t avoid the cross but set His face toward it, embracing both the physical agony and spiritual weight of our sin out of obedience to the Father. Even in His pain, Jesus extended mercy—praying, “Father, forgive them”—and when He breathed His last, the temple curtain tore, symbolizing that the barrier between God and humanity was forever removed. The message called us not only to stand in awe of the substitutionary love that saves us but also to accept Jesus’ invitation to take up our own cross daily—to surrender our will, trust God’s plan, and live strengthened by His presence.
